This course is designed to develop the skills of those involved in animal production and feed formulation. This course is designed to impart knowledge to those persons who want to understand animal nutrition and be able to compound their rations for various farm animals and to develop the skills of those who are already involved in animal production. Introduction
Digestion and digestive systems of monogastric and ruminant animals
Characteristics of feedstuffs used in ruminant and non-ruminant rations
Ration formulation for monogastric and ruminant animals by Pearson square and computer methods
Feed mixing
Utilization of low quality roughage
Manufacturing of urea molasses cake blocks

Training Resources

The College Farm will be used as the main site of practical demonstrations for all the courses. There shall be field tours to farms of specific interest to the course being conducted.

Competent members of staff of the College and some invited persons will handle both theory and practical lessons of the course and there shall be a lot of sharing of experiences with course participants.
