Flue Cured Virginia Tobacco Field Management

The tobacco plant is a very sensitive species. Therefore, proper selection of the site of the field is of paramount importance. The eventual management of the crop in the field influences the yield and the quality of the tobacco that will be harvested. The price of the tobacco crop is determined on the basis of weight and quality of the cured leaf. Therefore, the management of the leaf in the field should be of the highest level possible so as to ensure good leaf leaving the field to the curing barns.
