The colour of the leaf is indicative of the chemical composition. Therefore, the colour of the leaf is very important. This course is designed to bring all the necessary knowledge and skills, to bring about the desired leaf for the market.

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:
- Handle the fresh tobacco leaf carefully.
- Correctly load the tobacco barn.
- Correctly cure flue cured Virginia tobacco.
- Demonstrate how to correctly condition tobacco leaf.
- Explain the methods of temporal tobacco storage.
- Demonstrate how to grade flue cured Virginia tobacco
- Explain in full methods of baling tobacco.
